Letter to Yenta 07/25/01

Dear Yenta,
Anyone over there know a Florence Weil, previously of RD 2, New Hope, zip 18938? Well she has some unclaimed property listed on New York's website. Apparently checks from Morgan Guaranty Trust. I was looking for my Aunt Hazel and noticed a series of checks listed. Could someone help this lady get her money from NY? It's odd it was turned over to NY as unclaimed property because its supposed to go to the state where she lives...Anyway, the site is www.osc.state.ny.us

Letter to Yenta 07/22/01

Dearest Yenta, Kudos to Robin Larsen and Will Anderson for putting together such a festive Bastille Day celebration! The town looked great decked out in red, white and blue, and it seemed like everywhere you turned something interesting was going on.

It was great to see the "Spirit of New Hope" come alive again and I was wondering if the same spirit could be duplicated by us doing more during Halloween and Mardi Gras. I always thought that New Hope would be the perfect place to celebrate Mardi Gras during the winter doldrums and maybe we could start planning something small at first and then build on it in upcoming years if successful. Maybe even the forming of crews with a parade and kings and queens and that sort of thing.

I remember when Halloween was a much bigger event here too and it seems like we could really benefit from having a parade or a large masked ball somewhere where the true color of New Hope could explode.

I know I'd be willing to work on these projects, so if anyone else is
interested please email me at ADuncan282@aol.com and maybe we can brainstorm on some ideas.

Respectfully...Allan P. Duncan

Letter to Yenta 07/16/01

Dear Yenta,
I figured living in a close knit town for 18 years would have its advantages and disadvantages. Know that I am approaching my 19th year I find it harder and harder to see any of these "advantages". On Friday night about 6 of my friends and I decided to go have a late night meal at Karla's in New Hope. We ate until about 1:30 a.m. and left. At that point we walked down Bridge St. toward the light to return to one of my friends houses. We were all having a really good time talking and laughing. When we were by the Playhouse New Hope's female officer pulled up behind us in her squad car and began to slowly follow us. She followed us in her car from the playhouse to the traffic light slowly
walking. She was driving so slow that cars were going around her to get by. As she sat at the red light starring at us at the corner in front of Meow-Meow we were wondering if there was a problem so we went up to the car and asked her if anything was wrong. She replied "I don't have to tell you anything." Hearing that we decided to just stand there at the light as the light cycled through she just stayed off to the side and starred at us, no talking no lights just starring at us trying to intimidate us to leave. After the light cycled twice we decided to see what she was up to. So we walked across the New Hope- Lambertville Bridge. She followed on our tail all the way across the bridge, she was creeping at our
pace following us. Finally when we were on Lambertville side she turned around and left. Now I don't live in Lambertville, neither does anyone I was with that night so you tell me what gave her the right to follow us, driving 2 mph at our feet all the way to Lambertville, NJ . When we asked what was wrong (if anything) she told us nothing. I am completely outraged by her actions, she abused her power as an officer of the law to harass us as we just walked. We were not loud or out of order, we were JUST WALKING. I am not sure if this officer has read the 1st Amendment of the Constitution but this it states that 'Congress shall make no law respecting the right of the people peaceably to
assemble' . I guess working for a local business, paying local taxes on my wages, paying rent in 18938 and just living here ALL OF MY LIFE is not good enough reason to not be harassed by the police. Maybe this officer of the "LAW" should read up on her "LAWS".

Congratulations to Ann McLaughlin (she is the pleasant part timer at the New Hope Visitor's Center) for her recent "hole in one" at the Jericho Mtn. Golf  Club. See if you can do the same - sign up now for the Sept.17th outing at Jericho sponsored by the Committee to spruce up the information center. Call

Letter to Yenta 07/05/01

Dear Yenta,
You HAVE been quiet lately, hope all is well with you.
Just an idea for those who would like to see the return of Fourth of July fireworks over the river. In many towns in N.J. (and in New York City) prime viewing locations are offered to charities who then charge a ticket fee for admittance. Maybe some of our waterfront restaurants could offer a great picnic "package" with a portion of the fee going to different (local) charities. This would be a great way to fund the "Main Street" program in New Hope and (maybe) the "Fisherman" project in Lambertville. This way, those who could afford a premium seat (and a meal) would help out the towns and those less fortunate. Maybe New Hope
would have less reliance on parking meters for cash, if we used more of our assets and turned them into real dollars. Just a thought...
Judy G.Williamson

PS: in the list of recipients of the premium ticket sales for Fireworks seats would be (of course!) the Eagle Fire Company, in New Hope and those in Lambertville. (Too numerous to list.)

Yenta Column 07/05/01

Dear Chris... even Yentas take vacations. Obviously, so do the
candidates...except for our newly declared independents who have chosen to publicly state their views, the rest of the lot has chosen to remain silent...much more silent than the Yenta. Are these candidates with undeclared positions going to function in secrecy after they are elected? Looks like it might be time for a change...and some "independent" thinking...
What do you think?     The Yenta

Dear Yenta,
Forgive my possible ignorance of this site's protocol, but aren't you supposed to respond to these postings with advice, concurrance, witticisms to the contrary, or even a good ribald flame-back? Never heard of a silent Yenta. Best,

Letter to Yenta 06/26/01

Dear Yenta,
what about all these new homes that are being built across from The Cartwheel? I hope these newcomers will not try to shut it down.

Letter to Yenta 06/24/01

Dear Yenta,

My name is Mark Mengel, and I am running as an Independent for a seat on the New Hope Borough Council. I have lived in New Hope for almost 10 years, owned a business here and have been involved in numerous projects throughout the town. For the first few years I was blissfully unaware of the political scene, but several years ago it became impossible to ignore as the posturing
and controversy became more vocal and more visible. I have repeatedly seen poor management, personal conflict, individuals publicly singled out for unfair treatment or ridicule, favoritism and an almost complete disregard for public opinion. New Hope politics need to change, and I firmly believe that the best way to change something is to become involved.

To give you an idea of where I stand, I'd like to touch briefly on what I consider a few "hot topics".

The Logan Inn:
Sparing no expense, Carl and Pam Asplundh have managed to recreate the Logan Inn as a successful business while doing all they could to maintain the integrity and historical value of the original structure. Although I must admit that things have not been done exactly as I might have done them, I am thrilled to add them to the New Hope business community. Without a doubt, I
am uniquely qualified to speak on the subject of the Magnolia Terrace. I live in the Flood House, which places me directly across the street, closer to the bar than any other resident. My only complaint is the volume of the entertainment. Should anyone else feel the same, I urge you to join me in my living room where the music is at a perfect listening level. As for the bar itself, it's popular, far more attractive than the old pavilion and I find it
vastly preferable to the proposed 3 story addition. However, when that addition goes in, I won't complain. I do not own the business or the property, and the addition will not inconvenience me personally, or lower my quality of life.

Parking:
We don't have enough. We never will. If we provide more spaces, more people will come to fill them. This does not mean we shouldn't attempt to improve the situation in any way possible. Currently the Council is considering an ecologically friendly parking lot on Borough land behind Union Camp. While noble, I consider this somewhat unrealistic. Despite all efforts, this lot will no longer be "friendly" as soon as we start parking cars on it.
In addition, this drastically reduces the number of spaces available. Paving is relatively cheap. Why not put a basic lot in to generate money while we examine all the other possibilities?

Traffic Congestion:
I think this goes hand in hand with parking. How much of our weekend traffic is simply people trying to park? We're pretty much stuck with the roads we have here, so this may be something we have to live with. The proposed "backdoor" may help, but the degree to which it will help is directly related to the number of spaces provided before you hit Bridge Street. Go for the big lot.

Union Camp:
This is a very similar situation to that of the Logan Inn. Someone bought a piece of property, and wants to do something with it, within the guidelines provided by the officials of New Hope. George Michael is taking what was essentially an abandoned property and making it into an attraction. Who are we to complain? If you wanted to do something different with it, you
should have bought it. This is not to say he should receive preferential treatment, or exceptions to the law. Everyone must adhere to the same guidelines.

(over)Development:
Isn't it time we said "Enough" to new construction? Every new home adds to our already strained utilities and public services, and compounds the parking and traffic problems. How many homes have been built here in the last 10 years? New Hope used to be surrounded by a river and woods, not Riverwoods.

The Police Department:
We need a police chief. Nearly all of the uproar of the past few years concerning police conduct would not have occurred if there had been a strong person in charge of the department. I believe I know almost every officer we have in town, and I feel safe in saying that individually they are good people. As a whole, I believe the department lacks guidance. Although the mayor may be the ultimate authority, he does not, and should not, provide the
daily management and oversight that is necessary. This must be a top priority.

Representation of the people of New Hope:
When I refer to the people of New Hope, I don't just mean the voting residents. New Hope has an involved business community, as shown by organizations like PiP and the Chamber of Commerce. A large percentage of the New Hope budget is paid for, directly or indirectly, by it's business community. New Hope can live or die by the success or failure of these people. Unfortunately, most of these "participating members" of our town are not residents, and therefore cannot vote here. Despite this, I feel we need to listen to these individuals and their concerns in addition to those of the
voting residents.

Disclosure of Information to the Public:
Many of us rely on hearsay and gossip to get our information in this town. Often, it's our only option. I have frequently noticed that opposing parties will make entirely dissimilar statements, each claiming to be giving us "the facts". I'd like to know what really happens, and maybe see some sort of documentation to back it up. I bet some of you would too.

Well, I tried to keep it short, and I failed miserably.

I have no miracle solutions. I'm not looking to place blame. I simply want the chance to do the best I can for a place that I've come to call home. Please, feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions, encouragement or scathing insults. I can be emailed at righthalf1@aol.com or seen in person nearly every day at Gerenser's Exotic Ice Cream. Any feedback will be appreciated. At least I'll know someone read this.

Sincerely, Mark

Letter to Yenta 06/22/01

Thank you Mr. Gerenser!! - It's heartening to know there is actually someone running who will post their positions (in black and white) for the voters to review. It says you believe that the town's residents deserve the opportunity to make informed decisions on the directions of their town. vw

Letter to Yenta 06/21/01

My Dearest Yenta,
(Or as someone who addressed you recently {and is very culturally challenged}
MISTER YENTA)

I have deliberately stayed off-line during the primaries to allow the various candidates to have their opportunities to explain their positions. It was fun to watch the election unfold. Now on this first day of summer, a new season dawning, it is time to comment, take issue, discuss and finally to satisfy VW. VW has consistently asked for candidates to state what they are about. To date no one has done so. Even though at this writing I am not
officially a candidate for Borough Council I WILL BE.

Over the last few months there have been a few comments that need addressing.
1.) I don't write anything for Christina Georgiou. She writes very well on her own. The fact that we agree on many issues should not be held against either of us. But on that subject, during one of the many Brobson Court hearings Chris Bollenbacher leaned over to me and said, " Great Letter Bob who does your writing?". Dearest Yenta, you know, I do all my writing and sign everything. I will rise and fall on my ability to communicate. So should everyone who writes to you.
2.) Roger, while I respect you, you must be honest with the voters. You were trashed by the Republicans in 1997. You were written in on the Democratic Ballot, as I was. That was a very high honor. However, the Republican committee people begged you to withdraw so their anointed one's could have a better chance. I still remember you saying how you couldn't bear to run as a Democrat. Remember Roger, the Republicans stiffed you in 99 and again in 01. I have a question for you Roger, how are you going to win
in November without the support of Democrats?
3.) Since Robert Brobson lost in the primary election, further comment on his misleading maudlin diatribe is unnecessary. How about now we release the Civil Service testimony? Thank God for the wisdom of the electorate.
4.) The Logan Inn - it is what it is. To those of us concerned with History it is a sad tragedy. To others who recognize competent, hands-on owners it is a joy. Does any one remember the Intelligencer photograph of the person in authority at the Logan Inn pretending to understand the immense value of the artifacts she held in front of her? I do. We were promised in that article that those artifacts would go on display. I'm waiting! While I too
am upset at the outside changes to the building, Carl and Pam are a wonderful addition to our business community. Give them time, they aren't finished yet, and I have high hopes that they have taken the communitys' comments to heart. Those who are opposed to the MIRACULOUS outdoor bar need to remember
that it will soon be gone when the next phase of construction begins (please Carl, don't do the ziggurat pattern on the new addition). Carl and Pam were caught in the cogs of a classic New Hope Borough debacle. Either the head of our zoning committee or our zoning officer allowed the construction to commence. Watching our Council President struggle to explain that the new
out door bar is legal in every way is laughable at best, but tragic in its implications for the town.
5.) To Concerned Citizen, since we all know it's you, sign your name Steve.

Now to please VW.

Here is what I believe as a public servant. The electorate, all voters, makes us an elected official. As such, on Borough Council, we have certain duties stated in the Borough Code. We also take an oath promising to defend the Constitution and the Laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; an oath I take seriously. As elected officials we have the duty to represent our constituency in the public forum. As Public Servants we are obliged to LISTEN to everyone who brings informed debate to an issue and after
considering every side, we act on that discourse. As members of Council we are sworn to uphold the health, safety and welfare of the community. I believe in fulfilling that duty.

I believe in the United States of America as the only country that invented itself for the benefit of the People. Therefore I:
1.) Am a strict Constitutionalist
2.) Believe in the Rule of Law.
3.) Know the difference between right and wrong.
4.) Believe that while events in the Nations' Capitol effect the country, events in City Hall have a more direct and lasting impact on residents. Therefore, local government must take great care in all public meetings, operations and execution of policy. In fact policy must be just and consistent. Smaller government is better than big. Fewer laws, properly adhered to are better than many laws ignored.
5.) Am a laissez-faire capitalist.

That was the general overview, now for the specifics.

1.) Give back to your community. PUBLIC SERVICE. It is an honor and a privilege to be allowed to hold public office. Should someone think that power or personal gain could be achieved, that person is wrong! Any person who desires the "job" for personal aggrandizement hasn't earned it.

2.) Borough Council meetings should be conducted by Parliamentary Procedures according to "Roberts Rules of Order". Good manners coupled with a rational argument are desirable.

3.) Quality of life issues - There are sufficient people who are taking care of the Arts and Business in Town; we must also take care of one of the most amazing Histories of all time.

4.) New Hope must have a Historic Preservation Ordinance with a stage one archeology study as the minimum. We need a Historic Preservation Committee with the goal of establishing a Well's Ferry-Coryell's Ferry-Canby's Ferry and New Hope Museum. (Yenta, I would have included the Leni-Lenape name for
our town but I can't spell it - help please?)

5.) Restore the integrity of our zoning process. Hark back to the days when Sid Ginsberg knew the law and had it equally and justly applied.

6.) Even I could back public water if it were decided by simple majority ballot referendum of all PROPERTY OWNERS who do not presently connect to a public water system. There is one additional problem with the current proposal that I will save for the appropriate time.

7.) I back a Main Street Manager program only with the full support of the New Hope Chamber of Commerce (check the law) and the 100% support of all affected property owners. The Main Street Manager must not be a tool for the benefit of a few and the enrichment of one.

8.) I will confess that I still didn't know that New Hope needed
"Revitalizing" let alone an entire committee devoted to it. The current committee is a travesty, sham and eye-wash. Again, allow me to flesh out these remarks at another time. Suffice it to say that the committee is operating in an insular environment. Any "survey" worded the way that one was, isn't worth the paper it is written on.

9.) The present Borough Council leadership ran on a platform of, "open and honest government", they ran on it, they lied. During the Prosceno-Johnson Borough Council there was real open and honest government. Compare past and present. I want that back whether I am on Council or not. I want to bring integrity back to the job. Not only did the Prosceno-Johnson Council have open and honest government we were better dressed (it shows
respect for the position). Please note, except for the summer meetings I wear a jacket and tie (and always wear socks). I also have recused myself whenever there has even been a hint of potential conflict.

10.) Police Committee must be restored at once. A new search for a Chief is imperative; it is the job of a committee of Council.
We must implement the Police Study. Finally admit that there is a drug problem in New Hope and stop it. I worked hard to get a D.A.R.E. officer, now there is no program in New Hope. When confronted with a series of drug related deaths over two years ago Council authorized a drug dog. No we have had another round of drug deaths, what will it take to get people aware? Don't believe the misleading comments of the Mayor, we need a dog and it can
be done. The individuals advising the Mayor that we have a liability problem are the real problem. I am the only person on Borough Council that supported a drug awareness pamphlet in the New Hope Solebury High School. We need a Chief of Police and we need a Mayor who will work with Borough Council to
implement Community Oriented Policing.

11.) Victoria Keller- treat the woman right. The single most hideous thing that Sharon Keiser has done on Borough Council was spearheading Victoria's ouster. We all know why it was done and it was not for the stated reasons. Tell me Richard, what is the status of the various lawsuits pending with Victoria?

12.) Availability- I have made myself easily available to the people of New Hope. I am in conversation from the morning's first telephone call until I retire for the night. I pioneered the publishing of my contact information so that people may reach me. Once again, telephone (215) 862-2050 (10 AM until 10PM please---anytime in an emergency) E-mail Rgerenser@AOL.COM During the summer come down to my boat dock (Coryell's Ferry) and if I have unfilled seats you may be my guest and have my ear for a half hour ride on the river.

13.) Re-do tax structure. It is time to stop subsidizing Solebury and the New Hope Solebury School district. NHSHS gets a disproportionate amount of any property tax increase. We MUST petition the state legislature to restructure our taxing methodology. We need a parking garage on the Borough
Property to insure future cash stream.

14.) Occupational Privilege Tax is proving to be as burdensome as
predicted. It is a nuisance tax of the worst kind with a rabid collection agency to enforce it. The paper work is a nightmare and it engages in a fishing trip that sooner or later will lead to a personal income tax. I would abolish the OPT (which, because of the cavalier method it was dumped on the business community, I call the slave tax) and work with the New Hope Chamber of Commerce to find another way. Even an increase in the Business
privilege tax would be more welcomed than the OPT.

15.) Comprehensive plan. We need to have a Public Reading of the Comprehensive Plan to reacquaint everyone with those issues. Adhere to the plan and all of the others that have been worked on in the Borough by legitimate committees and agencies. Restore a dialog with the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority. Believe me, the other shoe is soon going to fall
unless we get a handle on the "blighted" area surrounding the Borough property. Again it is not the time to discuss this and I don't want to give the opposition any ideas. Any thought that New Hope is built out is wrong. Much more development could come our way unless we act now.

16.) All new development must guaranty citizens' wells along the
guidelines of the Evergreen Well Water agreements worked out by a previous member of Council. Citizens' well water must be protected.

17.) Pocket Parks, we need a program to establish an outdoors recreational infrastructure. This Council deliberately stopped a park I had proposed on Randolph Street in an attempt to limit my achievements. I would work to get that blighted area restored and built as a park. There are many other areas such as "Dark Hollow" which could be incorporated into a parks and recreation
entity.

18.) Public Employees should account for all freebies. New Hope is a very generous town; one or two public officials are taking advantage of hospitality being offered. Under a certain dollar amount I am grateful for the "donations" however when full meals and other perks are being provided an appearance of impropriety may exist. I would ask for an accounting of all "gifts" offered to public officials in excess of $100.00 per year.

19.) No frou-frou parking lot. The proposed "ecologically safe" parking lot ignores the substantial reduction in parking requirements given to the Union Square Project. Those variances were given based on packing 300 plus cars on Borough Property. I wonder why certain people want the Borough to have fewer spaces there now? We need a three story-parking garage at that
location. One floor down, one ground level and one up. A 600-car facility would answer very well New Hope's parking and budget problems.

20.) Equal partnership rights. Certain constituents have expressed
discomfort at the possibility of discrimination in housing, jobs and marital status. New Hope should lead the way for the State and the Nation in a "Equal Partnership Protection Ordinance".

21.) Fireworks. We really tried and almost had them back! There was willingness on the part of the local Emergency Services People to at least try it one more time. We were shot down by an agency across the river. I think it can be done. I stand for July 4th fireworks over the River and will work to achieve them safely.

22.) We must get our agreement for the "Back-door" in writing. No
certificate of occupancy should be granted until we get it

23.) Quality of life issues for residents. We must be open to the needs of our growing community. We need a community task force to provide a safe environment for our children and seniors to have activities within our town. More later on this

24.) Candidates should be regular attendees at Borough Council meetings.

25.) Candidates must debate! Instead of hiding behind letters that may or may not have been written by the candidate let us have an open forum and debate. I want a full-fledged debate with all candidates for Council as well as the mayoral race. I want to have a debate with mayoral candidates. We can not afford four more years of a mayor as lap dog to the special interests. I want to debate. I am ready.

Yenta and VW there you have it. This is what I believe as a candidate for Borough Council. I have shown the way, now let the others step up to the plate. My only problem in doing this is in outlining all of the above I have given the other candidates information that they couldn't have gotten from one source. I have given them a target to hit. In otherwords, please defend me in the months ahead when the other candidates will claim that they thought of this that and the other thing when in fact on the first day of summer 2001 I am first to have stated my positions on the issues facing the town.

In conclusion: I am a life long resident. I am raising two wonderful
children here. I own and operate two businesses. I have a long history of public service and have been a regular attendee at Borough Council meetings. I am proud to have served my community honorably for the last 3 1/2 years on Borough Council. I have missed only 3 Council meetings in that time. I am proud of my record and achievements. I am prouder still that even when I
fell to minority voice status I soldiered on. I am willing to run on my record and not from it.

Letter to Yenta 06/19/01

At long last the primaries are over in New Hope. I would like to suggest to The Yenta the creation of an “Election 2001 Forum” link where Democrat, Republican and Independent candidate’s platforms could be made public, voters questions, etc. could be displayed and answered. There are many issues facing New Hope in the fall Election, lets get it on.
Also once again I would like to encourage all candidates to debate the issues, especially the two mayoral candidates. Many voters would like to see a formal debate scheduled for these two mayoral candidates. There seems to be many questions, this way the voters can make educated decisions.

Respectfully,

Letter to Yenta 06/19/01

As others have accurately stated - the town's infrastructure, buildings and tourist economy are in need of revitalization.
That being said - town governments have the responsibility for reviewing building applications, issuing permits and enforcing zoning regulations. Everyone who has ever gone for a building permit (in any town) knows that the zoning and building codes are written with so many exceptions and contradictions, that officials end up with a certain level of discretion (in what gets stalled for protracted community review and what sails through). One would hope that officials use these limited discretionary powers to help guide the community's development (both residential and business) along a path that respects both individual property owner rights and the development character desired by the majority of a town's citizens. Businesses are not the only ones with a financial stake in the town. The character of new development can also affect the desirability and value of residential property.
Hence, we come back to politics. If candidates for public office do not publish (in black and white) their detailed positions and visions, then there is little chance that all the voters can readily play a hand in steering the community's directions through the ballot box.  Maybe this is not possible - in a day and age where winning frequently seems to supercede all, but it would surely benefit the general citizenry.
In closing, there are those with profits as their top priority and those with quality of life and culture issues as their top priority. The boro needs both to flourish. If those of differing opinions can appreciate and look at the opposing viewpoints, then the town will benefit. If not, the ballot box and the integrity level of elected officials will determine whether the town's future growth and character are governed by personal agenda's or by the public as a whole.

Dear Yenta:
Hats off to PIP.
Dinner & the show were awesome. I have seen Cabaret in New York & Philadelphia. On a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being New York the Bucks County Playhouse was at least a 8 1/2 or possibly 9.
Bravo to the cast and crew. For such a fine job.

Count me in as a YentaPhile...if The Gazette is not going to go online then the Yenta is the next best thing for update local news and commentary! (Hint to the Gazette, as a former columnist many years ago...get with the Internet!).
Seriously, I lived in New Hope for only four years many years
ago...admittedly they were the "formative years" where values are either formed or rejected...and the HOPE of New Hope remains with me. In fact, I have recently moved to an area much like New Hope and the values and times I spent in New Hope are very real here. My foundations in New Hope gave me a good basis to becoming a successful businesswoman and for that I will be forever grateful. My understanding is that the nurturing nature of the high school, although changed, is produces the same result.
Anyone who has ever spent any time in New Hope would like to freeze it...they would like to remember the Logan Inn as it was when they visited, they would like the flavors at Gerenser's to be exactly the same as they were, and they would like nothing to have changed at The Playhouse. HOWEVER, time does march on and innovations do happen...and improve our life as much as they complicate it. I notice that none of the people complaining about the media extravaganza at the new outdoor bar at the Logan Inn
complain about the Yenta's availability...I notice that none of the people that complained about the canceling of the fireworks complained about the fact that the Eagle Fire Company now has a "jaws of life" that gives people precious minutes in the life saving business. I notice that the people that complain that policemen show up at a Council meeting in uniform don't complain that the police have pepper spray to use now instead of nightsticks...or worse... Living with and managing change is becoming increasingly important...and more difficult... in our society...I hope that the current citizens of New Hope will strive to make it a nice place to remember...and to visit...(early and often!).

What's this we hear about cancelling all the adult evening school programs at the NH-S High School this Fall? Can anyone let us know what's happening? We should be using our tax supported, beautiful new High School to its fullest capacity. What's the hold up? A Previous Student
