Misc Wildlife Pics:

Notes on the below photographs: The polar bear and seal photos were taken by researchers who were tagging and examining them, to aid in their protection. The polar bear is tranquilized, not dead. The tuna fishing pictures were intended to give a reminder of what the tuna on the local menu has gone through before arriving on the plate. For all those objecting to the publication of these type of photographs on the site (and we have rec'd some nasty emails); tuna, chilean sea bass and many other species don't grow in cans or on fish farms. A reduction in the consumption of many over-exploited species in the wild is needed if they and the planet's fisheries are to survive. What type and amount of seafood each individual in our little corner of the world choses to consume does make a difference.
