Second Saturdays is alive in New Hope. On July 12th, Seven art galleries and one antique shop in New Hope will compete in a dessert contest during Second Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. or later. Visitors have the opportunity to sample a free dessert at each participating location and vote for their favorite.
The participating businesses are BOI’s of New Hope Art Gallery, Gallery Piquel, Howard Gallery of Fine Art, Image Makers Art Gallery, New Hope Arts, New Hope Sidetracks Gallery and Teardrop Memories. "Many of the galleries and shops in town already offer complimentary refreshments or hors d’oevres during Second Saturdays, so we decided to take it up a notch with a little friendly competition," explains the Second Saturdays Committee Chair. "This should be a delicious incentive to encourage visitors to check out the variety of businesses throughout New Hope."
Ballots are available at each participating gallery and the New Hope Visitors Center. Votes must be turned in at the various locations by 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. After a representative from the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce tallies the ballots, The New Hope Gazette plans to print the winning recipe in its July 17th edition.
